The Holy Sinner
2006First performed in the Old Iron Foundry in the Auckland Harbour Board building, “The Holy Sinner” was subsequently commissioned to be restaged for the New Zealand Festival of the Arts in 1994. It was an adaptation of a Thomas Mann’s story of love, sin, retribution and penance, and on both occasions sold out after opening night. At the 2004 International Festival in Wellington, Inside Out took this wildly physical production and staged it in the more controlled environment of The St. James Theatre. Starring in the lead roles were Hollywood star Cliff Curtis and leading light Mia Blake. The production caused a great deal of controversy and sold out in 5 days.
